The Bacardi Center of Excellence is a dynamic learning partnership between Bacardi USA and the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Florida International University (FIU). The vision of the partnership is to inspire and educate the hospitality community on spirits, entrepreneurship and beyond. The program has four main pillars:

BacardiTeach is a learning platform and University credits are not currently offered. This program will allow participants to earn Micro-Credentials (Badges) to strengthen competitiveness by significantly improving or mastering competencies in spirits education.
Micro-Credentials are digital representations of your learning, designed so that you can share the skills you have gained. Micro-credentials, while not a replacement for certificates, minors, or degree programs, are a supplemental designation to provide evidence that you are working towards mastering critical 21st century competencies. The fee structure will differ depending on the length, topic and level of the learning module. As part of our program launch, the first courses of the program are free, for a limited time only.
The course is meant to be taken at your own pace and can run anywhere from 30 minutes up to 1 hour.
No, the courses are not meant to replace the requirements for a bartender’s certification, but are ideal for individuals who want to further their industry professional development or understand the basics of individual spirits and mixology.
Yes, the BacardiTeach learning platform is compatible with mobile devices.
Bacardi USA has collaborated with FIU Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management to establish the Bacardi Center of Excellence. A dynamic educational partnership focused on developing learners of beverage management, fine spirits, industry innovation, sustainability and entrepreneurship.
The BacardiTeach learning platform can help hospitality professional’s improve and gain more immersive knowledge on fine spirits, basic mixology, beverage management, industry trends and develop professional skills from leading industry professionals.
No, current scholarships are not available.
BacardiTeach is available to the general public and any individual seeking to learn more about spirits and mixology.
Promotional programs will be available to the FIU community.
Once the course has been paid for, you will have access to it for the duration of the time that it is available on the BacardiTeach website. You will not be prompted to retake the quizzes once you have been awarded your Brand Badge for that course.
New courses will be added regularly.
The BacardiTeach learning platform is designed to be ‘learn as you go’ or à la carte. You have the option to choose your own learning pathway. Each course comes separately and a fee could be included with each one.
BacardiTeach utilizes Bacardi Brand Ambassadors who are leading global experts, and Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management faculty members, along with state-of-the-art technology to bring ‘on-demand’ educational resources in real time. It is not an online bartending program. The program will be located at the Bacardi Center of Excellence in the Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management located at FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus. We are expecting to launch the in-person program during the Fall semester of 2020.
The initial rollout will be a fully online program, but in the future we will have seminars, workshops and leading industry experts sharing knowledge through the Bacardi Center of Excellence.
No, there is no real-time chat feature on the learning platforms. Specific questions can be sent via email and will be answered within a 24-hour window.
There will be more than five courses offered on all of the fine spirits categories. Each course will cover the process of fermentation and distillation, spirits origins and the characteristics that make each category of spirits so unique.
The BacardiTeach online courses are open to the public for registration.
